Corfu's Imerolia marina clears environmental approval for 241 berths
The Ministry of Environment and Energy has approved the environmental terms for the planned Imerolia marina at Kassiopi in northern Corfu, the Corfu Port Authority (OLKE) said on 3 October. The project covers 241 berths: 232 permanent places for boats of 10 to 35 metres and nine seasonal berths for yachts over 40 metres, on the western shore of Imerolia Bay, using existing port structures and reclaimed land.
Next come a joint ministerial decision on the site and then a tender, so no berths will be available for several seasons. Still, for anyone cruising the Ionian it signals a future sheltered base in the north of the island, where organised berths are scarce.
