Gosport Marina closes its fuel pontoon for six weeks to fit a 30,000-litre tank

Premier Marinas is investing more than £370,000 in the fuel service at Gosport Marina in Portsmouth Harbour, replacing the present 6,000-litre petrol tank with one of 30,000 litres. The fuel pontoon closes to all vessels from Monday 19 October for about six weeks, weather permitting.

The work also covers a fuel-polishing system for the refurbished diesel tank, new pipework and a new interceptor tank. The pontoon sells roughly 25,000 litres of marine diesel and 8,000 litres of petrol a week, so fewer tanker deliveries should mean fewer interruptions. While it is shut, Premier berth holders and visiting boats can refuel at Port Solent Marina.
